True or false : Liberal Christianity stands a better chance for success than conservative Christianity?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by ';success';....

EDIT: Well then the answer would probably be no because liberal Christians usually aren't trying to ';win'; anyone over anyway.

Opinionated: ';There were no liberal Christians in the Bible.';

Jesus was liberal for his time. Granted he was Christ, not a Christian, but still....True or false : Liberal Christianity stands a better chance for success than conservative Christianity?
Since most Christians are liberal Christians, I would say history bears out the former.True or false : Liberal Christianity stands a better chance for success than conservative Christianity?
Yes. I'm not going to believe in it either way but if they want more sheep *ahem*... uh, I mean, followers then, they're going to have to loosen up and stop being so homophobic and hateful towards other religions.
Not lately no, people are scared ****-less and looking for something big and dramatic...
True, because liberal christianity is more progressive than the 2000 yr old version.

How many gay and lesbian people would be christians if not for the whole being gay is a mortal sin ranting by the conservative christians?

Right now, the Episcopal Church has a better chance of surviving longer than any other sect of christianity. If only because they tend not to preach hate about gays. Well, the liberal Episcopal church that is, not the ones that are breaking away to join with the African churches. (which is, btw, more or less against how they work. The rule being you do not poach followers on another's turf)
It's the quality of your own heart that counts, not numbers.

As hearts turn, it's contagious.
Perhaps, but there were no liberal Christians in the bible.
False.

Just look at talk radio as an example. Liberal talk radio bombed so badly that you can hardly find a station with liberal views anymore, while conservative talk radio is everywhere.
True.
My conjecture is that the current strong wave of rigid conservative Christianity will loose some strength and the tide will ebb back to (at least) a more moderate stance, and the liberal Christians will play a bigger role.

Much of the conservative movement is too rigid and with the transparency of media documenting fundamentalism (Jesus Camp, Creation Museum, the Phelps, internet news sites that detail stuff like that Navy vet denied a memorial service), the backlash against the ';fundies'; and extremists will grow.
What's the diff?
It may be true. Or not.

I know a lot of those around me want a more forgiving, tolerant, loving religion and I live in a very conservative place.

There are a lot of the same people researching other religions or deciding to '; take a break'; from practice.

For the most part I am shocked by these people, they were always percieved as very Christian/conservative.

Time will tell.
True.
spiritual christianity stands a better chance than religious christianity
I'm inclined to think so. Provided only that the reactionaries don't manage to set the world on fire.
False.

Look at the Anglican or United churches right now. They are losing membership hand over foot in North America over their descision to allow same sex marriage among other things.
Watered down versions of the truth may attract in the short term, but will fade away with time.

Life changes come with a price. The long term means total commitment to the entire package.

No substitutions, No additives.
False- liberal churches are closing their doors all over America!
I think surviving 100 years after the other dies out doesn't constitute success.
